YUSRA HA NUOTATO PER SALVARSI LA VITA

Syrian Refugee Eyes Rio Olympics

“I want to represent all the refugees because I want to show that after the pain and the storm comes calm days.” Syrian refugee Yusra, 17, is training in Germany to compete at The Olympic Games this summer, as a Rio 2016 Refugee Olympic Athlete. She has already swum to save her life and others - after her overcrowded boat from Turkey failed, she swam to Lesvos, Greece. Yusra's determination and strength saved the lives of 20 other refugees. From Greece, Yusra and her sister traveled through Europe to Germany, where she now trains daily, with a focus on qualifying for Rio."I want everyone to do what they feel in their heart even if it’s impossible,“ she says. “The war will stop and I will go back with experiences, and I will teach everyone what I had here.”Read more: http://tracks.unhcr.org/2016/03/syrian-refugee-eyes-rio-olympics/
